Attorney Mary Viegelahn obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1983, and received her Juris Doctor in 1989. She has 34 years of experience in insolvency-related matters, with 10 years in private practice representing Chapter 11 debtors, creditors, unsecured creditors committees, and Chapter 11 trustees; representing Chapter 12 and Chapter 13 debtors and creditors; representing Chapter 7 debtors, creditors and trustee; and representing debtors in IRS insolvency matters. She has been a Chapter 13 Trustee since 2000, beginning in Michigan. In 2010, she was appointed Chapter 12 and Chapter 13 Trustee in San Antonio, Texas. In addition, Mary is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Michigan, and the Western District of Texas; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th, 6th, and 7th Circuits; and the State Bar of Michigan. She is a Past President for the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees, has served as an Editor for professional publications, and serves a frequent speaker and author for various professional organizations.
