In his current role, Kurt Johnson is responsible for setting all credit risk related policy and governance. With over 20 years’ experience in the mortgage-banking industry, he joined Mr. Cooper in 2015. Prior to coming aboard, Johnson spent six years as EVP at OneWest Bank and nearly a decade as SVP at Indymac Bank, where he helped develop a streamline modification program that served as the template for HAMP.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Math from Occidental College and a master’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from Cornell University.
